Studio Quality Photography

If you're anything like me, you need as much help as you can get with photographing your handmade goodies for Etsy.  I found this awesome tutorial on Handmadeology that I'm going to try straight away!

Here are some photos I took using these tips:

And a little sneak at what I'm working on for my new shop.

More funness {pronounced FUN-ness, new word} for my shop.

And more still.

So, what do you think? I still have more work and playing around to do. Of course I need to work on my foil straightening skills {can you see the creases?}.  It's hard getting them light enough without the problem of glare.  Ah well, practice practice practice.  I could only work on them so long as I was burning up working in front of the hot window with the foil reflecting the oh-so-hot sun into my face.  I'm secretly waiting for Fall.

Procrastination and a Paris video

I am the queen of procrastination and time wasting.  It’s true.  Anything to keep me from doing what I have to do.  Even if that thing I have to do will benefit me to the point of Life Changing.
Getting my Etsy shop back up is that life changing thing {at least my hope is for it to be life changing}.  I have my ideas for what I want to put in my shop; I’ve been thinking diligently about how I am going to design these products {with a little design actually put into action}; I have been thinking about a new name to really showcase my shop; I have been reading blogs like crazy on building your own business, marketing tips, browsing other successful Etsy shop’s, photography how-to’s, blah blah blah.
So, am I making progress?  I’d like to say I’m learning a lot.  Now time for ACTION!  {oh yeah, and another time waster}

Doesn’t this just make you want to pack up your bags and go right now?  {See, there I go again.  It’s inevitable}

Pinterest...Need I Say More?

All I have to say is Pinterest.  I have been A-DDICTED.  At first it was just a time waster for me, but now it’s a place to store recipes I want to try, interior design ideas that I LOVE (and want to try), crafted inspiration to get me in the mood, I could go on and on.  I’ve been trying to get people as hooked on Pinterest as I am, some people give me funny looks and others say “Oh I’ve heard about that!”.  Here are some examples from my boards.

Graceful.

Would love to try making these.

See what I mean?  I’ll be sharing more of my pins in future posts.  But for now I leave you with a little tasty treat to wet your appetite for Pinterest.
